Abstract

Humans have greatly altered Earth's nocturnal photic environment through the production of artificial light at night, impacting bird diversity. Therefore, the objective of this article was to generate a reflective framework of the effect that light pollution presents as an impact factor on bird conservation. Regarding the content, the
Literature reports that, for many years, birds have been attracted to artificial light sources; However, it has become an impact factor for its survival. This is because it generates collisions, changes in the flight path and alterations at a physiological and behavioral level; It is mentioned that juveniles are more affected. For example, this can affect singing, reproduction, sleeping and feeding. Based on the effects that may occur in the short or long term, four main mitigation measures have been proposed to counteract this polluting activity: avoidance, minimization, compensation and rehabilitation. In addition, various suggestions are presented that can be chosen in the future, in order to have better control. It is concluded that, although light pollution does not cause direct damage to the environment, it
They can take action now and avoid a massive loss of species, in addition to improving the capacity for mutual respect between societies.
