Abstract

Among the viral diseases that plague the world, SARS-CoV-2 has become one of the epidemics that have affected a large part of the population causing millions of deaths, which to date has had no response to conventional treatments worldwide. Therefore, based on the aseptic application and suppressive effect it has against some groups of viruses, the present study proposes the use of chlorine dioxide (CDS) for the treatment of the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus (COVID-19), evaluating the effects it could cause in the organism. An experimental observational study was carried out in which 70 patients of different age groups who were infected with COVID-19 or in contact with any infectious agent of the same were included. They were administered CDS in doses of 5 to 40 cc of CDS diluted in 500 to 1000 cc of distilled water orally or alternatively according to medical evaluation. A total of 42 patients infected with COVID-19 who were treated with CDS responded positively to the treatment by reducing the signs of inflammation due to the virus infection without any adverse response to its absorption of chlorine dioxide in the blood without damage to the liver, kidney or any other organ. It is concluded that CDS can be considered as a potential alternative therapy to treat COVID-19.
